Cubadisco 2009 Interantional Symposium
Organized by the Center for Research and Development of Cuban Music (CIDMUC) and chaired by its director, Laura Vilar, with the general coordination of MSc. Alicia Valdés.

- Preservation of traditions and the importance of folklore in Cuban and Caribbean cultural-historical context.
- Today´s Cuban music. Musical creation, development programs and musicological research.
- Contemporary musical industry. New technologies for creation and new ways to promote and commercialize the artistic product. Experiences of Cuban discographic industry.
Artistic performances by students from Art Education coordinated with the CNEART and the art schools of the capital will take place. The Music Direction of MINED has supported all these activities.
Some workshops on Cuban popular dances and music will be carried out for children and young people in association with MINCULT (Ministry of Culture), Conjunto Folklórico Nacional and UNICEF, as well as meetings between Cuban and Puerto Rican musicians.
This theoretical space is supported by the National Performing Arts Council of MINCULT (Ministry of Culture).
