Prize Basis, CUBADISCO 2007

Only musical discography productions published by Cuban and foreigners record companies officially registered in Cuba will be able to participate, or those foreign publishing seals whose product is distribute in the country and any other musical production contained in the bases and categories in competition.  The Cuban music productions or Cuban interpreters must be published and commercialized between January 1 st ,2006 and December 31 st, 2006. It will be also considered productions published before and not registered in former contests, and commercialized between January 1 st, ,2006 and December 31 st, 2006.

Cubadisco Award takes in consideration the quality and integrality of specific recordings participating in the contest and not the work, relevance and virtues of any artist whose works are included in the recording.

The Record companies and Record labels can propose as many recording and videographical musical productions - related to those-, as they wish provided their propositions will be registered.

The registration period will be from January 8 th to January 19 th, 2007. The following will be required:

Registration request which specifies the relation of the proposed productions, code, interpreter and the categories in which they are proposed.

Five copies of each proposed production with an affidavit certifying the dates of publishing and commercialization of the proposed productions must be handed in by the labels during the registration act.

A written authorization of the publishing labels must be presented by Cuban and foreign labels settled in Cuba and authorized to produce and distribute records from other Cuban music companies not represented in the country and proposed for the award.

The applicants’ institutions will be responsible for the registration of their musical productions. Once registered these productions can not be removed from the contest under any circumstance.

The institutions’ contestants will know the respective admitted productions before the nomination process.

It will be the decision of the Award Committee, with the approval of the main artist and the producer, to determine the final category of nomination for each production, independently from those originally proposed by the labels.

After the Award Committee sees and hears each production, they will determine which productions will receive nominations for prizes in each of the categories. The maximum number of nominations in each category could be up to five productions.

The inscription in the contest takes implicit the acceptance of its bases.

It will be the decision of the Award Committee the addition of any category they regard as necessary.

The decisions of the juries and the Award Committee will not appeal.
