CONVOCATION
The Centre of Investigation and Development of The Cuban Music (CIDMUC) and the National Phonographic Office summon within the IX CUBADISCO 2005 INTERNATIONAL FAIR, to the International Symposium "The Music Industry in the XXI Century" that will take place from May 24th to 27th convening musicologists, researchers, journalists, writers, musicians, critics, students and other specialists interested in deepening in the knowledge of the subject.
Their theoretical program includes: reading of reports, conferences, debate panels, presentations of books and magazines, screening of documentaries and music recitals.
Besides the main subject the following topics will be also approached:
- Evolution and history of the record in Cuba and the Caribbean.
- Woman as object and subject of the musical creation.
- Japan: its trade of Cuban and Latin American music records.
- Folklore as a reserve of musical creation.
TECHNICAL NORMS FOR THE REGISTRATION OF WORKS AND SUMMARIES
- REPORTS: Title a summary of 250 words as maximum, a version in 9 sheets - as maximum - typewritten at two spaces, equivalent to 2500 words. Time to present the reports won´ t exceed 20 minutes.
- CONFERENCE: Title, summary -maximum of 1000 words- written version of their presentation, the time of presentation of the conference won´ t exceed 40 minutes.
- PANELS DEBATE: Theme, title, goals, the time of the debate won´ t exceed 40 minutes.
- PRESENTATION OF BOOKS AND MAGAZINES: Title of the publication, two copies of the publication.
- SCREENING OF DOCUMENTARY AND MUSIC RECITALS: Name of the show/ documentary, name of the artist (s) performing. Not over 20 minutes.
In all modalities a brief professional record of the author (s) must be attached including complete data, city, country and contact address requirement of technical equipment to illustrate its presentation.
Those interested in participating as delegates (presenters) must have their application arrive before March 1 st 2005.
RATES OF INSCRIPTION
Delegate (presenters): Foreigners: the equivalent to 30.000 USD; Nationals 30:00 MN
Participants: Foreigners: the equivalent to 40:00 USD; Nationals 40.00 MN
Companions: Foreigners: the equivalent to 20:00 USD; Nationals 20:00 MN
Students: Foreigners: the equivalent to 10:00 USD; Nationals 10:00 MN
These inscriptions quotas include:
Delegate: Credential, documents of the event, presenter´ s certificate, access to all sessions of the Symposium, free entrance to the Caribbean Gala, to the Trade Commercial Inauguration, to the Cuba-Japan Gala and a day visit to the Fair premises.
Participant: Credential, documents of the event, access to all the sessions of the Symposium, free entrance to the Caribbean Gala, to the inauguration of the Commercial Fair, to the Cuba-Japan Gala and a day visit to the Fair premises.
