The Cuban Institute of Music and Cubadisco International Fair Permanent Committee convoke to the yearly recording contest Premio Cubadisco 2003.

Generals:
Cubadisco Award was created in 1998 aiming to the acknowledgement and encouragement of quality in recording productions as well as contributing to promote and spread them.

Cubadisco is not intended to substitute any other contest, or distinction in the national system of the music or culture in general.

Cubadisco takes in consideration the quality and integrality of specific recordings participating in the contest and not the work, relevance and virtues of any artist whose works are included inthe recording.

Cubadisco award is granted considering specific categories allowing the Award Committee to organize the recording material subject to their consideration and which suffer permanent adjustment and modifications according to the experience and thevery development of the Cubanrecording industry.

1 Cubadisco Award is granted during the celebration of the Fair Cubadisco 2003.

2 Cubadisco 2003 Award will consider there cordings from Cuban and foreign labels officially based or distributing in the country their recordings of any kind of Cuban music or artists published or commercialized between January 1st,2002 and December 31 st , 2002.

3 Those productions published before and not registered in former contests, and commercialized between January 1st, 2002 and December 31 st, 2002.

4 An affidavit certifying the dates of publishing and commercialization of the proposed productions must be handed in by the labels during the registration act.

5 A written authorization of the publishing labels must be presented by Cuban and foreign labels settled in Cuba and authorized to produce and distribute records from other Cuban music companies not represented in the country and proposed for the award.

6 It will be the decision of the Award Committee, with the approval of the main artist and the producer, to determine the final category of nomination for each production, independently from those originally proposed by the labels.

7 It will be the decision of the Award Committee the addition of any category they regard as necessary.

8 After passing the first round, the recordings will be listened by the Award Committee in charge of deciding the nominations. The discussion, the propositions and the voting will be "a viva voce".

9 The members of the Award Committee will form juries by categories, discuss "a viva voce" the criteria supporting the propositions. The voting will be secret and its result admits not appeal.

10 The members of the juries by categories can not be directly related to the productions in contest.

11 Record labels can propose as many productions as they wish provided their propositions will be registered before January 1 st, 2003.

12 Five copies of each proposed production will accompany the registration.
13. The Video category will admit music Video Clips corresponding to the CDs subject to the 2003 contest.

13 Special Awards can be grant by the Committee to productions with singular or exceptional values not considered by any of the categories, participating in the contest.

14 The Award Committee can be granted Cubadisco "Honor Award" to Cuban or foreign personalities and cultural institutions having made exceptional contributions to the creation or production of recordings and significant cultural and social musical realizations.

15 The Award Committee will choose the Grand Award Cubadisco from among the productions awarded by the juries of the different categories. Only as an exception can the jury consider the selection of a second Grand Award. Voting will be written, personal and secret.
