Loyola Fernández Flutist, composer and musicologist. He started
his artistic life as flutist of music band. In 1962, he joined Charanga Juvenil
Orchestra from the Cuban artistic delegation that was representing our country
at the VIII World Festival of Youth and Students in Helsinki, Finnland. He
was director of ''Amadeo Roldán'' conservatoire in Havana. Professor from
the Superior Institute of Art. He has worked in the ellaboration of music plans
and programs. Member of the Scientific Council from ISA. As composer, he has obtained
various national and international prizes at compositions conquests, he was bestowed
with the Anual Recognition Prize for his entire creative work in 1992. He also
posseses a wide catalog of symphonic, chorus, chamber compositions, Monzón
Opera and King of Koré; composer of music for Cuban animated films,
theaters and modern dancing. Founder and director of Música Cubana Magazine,
trimonthly publication of UNEAC. First Vicepresident of UNEAC. Andrés
Alén Rodríguez Pianist, composer and professor. He stareted
his artistic career at the age of 11 offering concerts from his own ownership
at Chamber Music Society of Havana, due to this reason he was appointed as Honored
Member of that institution. In 1976, working as piano professor of ENA, he started
to teach this speciality at Alejandro García Caturla Conservatoire, teaching
also at ISA, school from which he is founder. As National Assessor of piano
for the Artistic Teaching System, he organizes and heads the improvement of this
speciliaty`s plans, also the Methodology of Piano Teaching and History of Piano.
His pupils have obtained great success obtaining multiple awards at different
national and international conquests. Since 1988, he started his annual participations
at Jazz Plaza Festival, highlighting the editions of 1989, 1995 and 1996. In this
stage, he also joined Perspectiva Group and represented Cuba at different festivals.
Andrés has a wide discography as composer, pianist, producer and arranger.
His work has been interpreted and recorded on different musical formats.
Gerardo
Alfonso Morejón Member of Nueva Trova Movement since 1980, his
work is entwined to the daily life of our people, hrough the searching and enrichment
of our roots, defending our revolutionary values. In 1996, he featured a theme
devoted to the 30 Anniversary of Che`s death in Bolivia, entitled ''Son los sueños
todavia'' and in 1997, he participated at the Opening Concert of the XIV Festival
of Youth and Students. Gerardo is one of the most remarkable figure of this decade
of troubadours whose work is joined to the main social events of the Cuban people.
He has participated at diverse Festivals of Politic Song at national and international
scenes. His entire work is characterized by the fussion and combining of different
genres, achieving Afro-Caribbean hybrids placed on top at the preference of our
youth. He was bestowed with ''Por la Cultura Nacional'' Distinction.
Calixto
Álvarez Fernández His artistic labor includes the orchestral
music. He has worked as musical assessor on radio, television, National Symphonic
Orchestra, the National Ballet and the Great Theater of Havana. As professor,
he teached Contrapunto and Reading of Scores at the National School of Art, teaching
also Musical Composition and Orchestration at ISA. He has also teached courses,
highlighting a course dedicated to young students of Latin America and the Caribbean
during TRimalca, event supported by UNESCO in 2002 in Havana. He has been member
of jury at various national conquests organized by UNEAC and other institutions
receiving awards and recognitions for his artistic creation. He was bestowed with
''Por la Cultura Nacional'' Distinction.
Federico
Arístides Soto (Tata Güines) One
of the most remarkable percussionist of our country who has developed a very personal
style since the age of 8. Since then, he joined diverse groups as Bongosero and
Tumbador, travelling to different countries representing our country. He has been
considered as Master of Tumbadoras and faithful precurssor of the modern tumbadora,
making valuable contributions to this genre, soaking it with outstanding Cuban
elements. He is an important interpreter of Son, Guaracha, Jazz, Mambo, Congas
and Afror rhythms. He also has preformed successfully at various festivals of
Salsa and Jazz music. He was bestowed with the distinction ''Por la Cultura Nacional''
Enrique
Bonne Castillo Composer
of popular music. He started his artistic career in 1950, author of the popularized-by-Pacho
Alonso Pilón Rhythm, Enrique is still creating. Heading the group ''Tambores
de Bonne'' along more than 20 years, he has participated on numerous carnivals,
fairs, festivals, radio and TV programs and some cabaret spectacles nationally
and abroad. His music has been interpreting by remarkable orchestras highlighting
Aragón and Estrellas Cubanas, including also soloists and vocal groups.

of EGREM and UNEAC, showing ''Por la Cultura Nacional'' and ''Raúl Gómez
García'' distinctions.
Alfredo
Diez Nieto Pianist, composer, orchestral director and professor. One
of founders at Musical Institute of Folkloric Investigations in 1949, leading
this institution furthermore in 1963 which under the name of Popular Music Seminar
offered courses for professional development to our popular musicians and other
culture personalities. He founded the Popular Symphonic Orchestra of Concert in
1965 being one of its mambers until he retired in 1988. He was bestowed with ''Por
la Cultura Nacional'', ''Raúl Gómez Garcia'', ''Rafael María
de Mendive'' and ''Por la Educación Cubana'' Distinctions.
Cándido
Fabré Fabré Cantante,
compositor que desde 1983 como vocalista de la Orquesta Original de Manzanillo
popularizó un grupo de temas que alcanzaron gran popularidad. En octubre
de 1993 forma su propia agrupación con la cual se ha destacado como autor
e intérprete. Incursionó en el cine con el tema musical de la película
española Las edades de Lulú. Fue el primer músico cubano
al que se le otorgó el Trofeo con el Sombrero y el Bastón de Beny
Moré. Declarado Hijo Ilustre de la ciudad de Santa Clara, Premio Nacional
"Rubén Martínez Villena", Premio Caracol del Caribe en
Cartagena de Indias en 1990, ostenta la Distinción "Por la Cultura
Nacional". En el año 2001 el Sindicato de la Cultura seleccionó
a la agrupación que dirige como Vanguardia Nacional.

Feliú Miranda Autor
e intérprete de indiscutible calidad. Sus canciones poseen un sello inequívoco.
Fundador del Movimiento de la Nueva Trova ha alcanzado un dominio de la guitarra,
capaz de acompañarse con originalidad de manera cálida y comunicativa.
Ha creado su propio estilo. Compositor de notable calidad, varios de sus temas
han hecho época dentro de la cancionística cubana. Ostenta la Distinción
"Por la Cultura Nacional".
