Cubadisco 2002 Award Basis

CUBADISCO Awarding will be given during CUBADISCO 2002 Fair achievement.
CUBADISCO 2002 Award will consider the recording productions of Cuban and foreign Labels officially established in the country or those that distribute, within the country, their phonograms of Cuban music, also, Cuban interpreters of any kind of music released or commercialized since January 1, 2001 to January 31, 2002.

Will be also considered the productions that, released from previous period, were commercialized since January 1, 2001 to January 31, 2002.

Recordings Labels, through legal declaration that must be delivered at the inscription act, will certificate the releasing and commercialization dates of the proposed productions.

Cuban companies and foreign enterprises settled in Cuba having authorization of production and distribution of tittles from other Cuban music companies with no representation within the country and being nominees to the award, should present in a written way, the permission of the editor label to submit his/her productions to the event.

The Awarding Committee will release the official nominations under the basis of the presented proposals by the different Labels and distributing companies. The final outcomes of the Awarding Committee will be not appeal able.

Each Record Label may propose to nominees, as many productions as they wish, whether their proposals were registered for the event until January 31, 2002.
With the inscriptions, should be given 5 copies of each nominee to the award.

The Awarding Committee, taking into account the professional value of its members, will form the juries; they should not be involved in the nominated productions.

The category Cassette will admit phonograms of this type that will compete among them, only if the Record Labels can not make the production using CD format and if the cassette has been edited and commercialized (in national currency), since January 1, 2001 until January 31, 2002.

The category Video will admit the musical video clips that will correspond to the nominated CDs in CUBADISCO 2002.

The Awarding Committee, considering only the awarded productions in the different categories by the correspondent juries, will decide the Great Award of CUBADISCO. In a very exceptional case, the Committee will consider the possibility of another great award.

The committee can give Special Awards, not only to the competitor productions but also to the labels, recording houses, institutions, personalities and musical productions that have contributed, in a singular way, to the art and recording industry development. The Special Awards are judged as a high connotation, so, its delivery will respond to this criterion.

The Awarding Committee could finally decide in which category will be nominated the production, despite the proposals sent by Records Labels with the approval of the main artist or producer.

The Awarding Committee could decide the incorporation of any category, if it is necessary, according to different genres in which, nowadays, phonograms, new styles and ways of presenting the musical production are approached.

The Awarding Committee will confer the ''CUBADISCO Honor Award'' to Cuban or foreign personalities that, for unquestionable reasons, had made exceptional contributions to the recording creations and promotions, having great social and cultural significance.
